Burns Park

Burns Park is located right in the center of life in Ann Arbor with close proximity to downtown and The University of Michigan Central Campus, as well as major shopping such as Arbor Hills, Whole Foods and Trader Joes. The Burns Park Elementary School and the 15 acre Burns Park are located in the center of what is commonly referred to as  “tenured Burns Park” due to the number of college professors living within the neighborhood. There is a North Burns Park Neighborhood Association (NBPA) that mostly encompasses homes on the streets directly north of Burns Park and Burns Park Elementary school.

There are many different home styles within Burns Park and, while there are some newly constructed homes, most were built between the 1890s and 1930s and still maintain much of their original charm. There are a diverse array of home styles within this neighborhood that include: Queen Anne, Georgian and Dutch Colonial Revival, Spanish Mission, and Vernacular homes. Residents of Burns Park have often been awarded Historic District Commission Awards for both their preservation and rehabilitation of the older homes in this neighborhood. Original features maintained within the homes often include: wood floors, coved ceilings, arched doorways, and crown molding. With so much diversity in one neighborhood, there is truly something here for everybody!
